DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox and Rocky Bridges showing off their cheeks full of chewing tobacco. Fox, left, has a large wad of chewing tobacco in his left cheek and is smiling while looking up. Bridges, right, has a wad of chewing tobacco in his right cheek and is biting his lower lip to keep it from spilling out while smiling. Fox is dressed in a Chicago White Sox road uniform whereas Bridges is dressed in the Washington Senators home uniform. The first caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Chewing Champs- Nellie Fox (left), White Sox second baseman, and Rocky Bridges, Senators' shortstop, compare chewing techniques before yesterday's game." The second caption on the back of the photograph (also not shown) states, "Nellie Fox Ready to chew on the Yanks." The final caption on the back of the photograph states, "Nellie Fox White Sox depend on this trio." Based on the Fox and Bridges uniforms and their time with their respective teams, this photograph was taken in approximately 1957.
