Norman has a large smile and is holding the pin. Ott's teammates, from left to right, Sid Gordon, Ace Adams, Cliff Melton, Johnnie Wittig, and Ernie Lombardi look on as he receives the pin. The desk in the foreground has two identical signs on it that state, "Buy War Bonds / Third War Loan." Ott's teammates are dressed in New York Giants home uniforms. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "New York Giants 'Back The Attack' With Bonds New York...the New York Giants, who buy their regular run of war bonds on the payroll savings plan, all bought extra bonds for the third war loan of from $100 to $500 today, Saturday, Sept. 11, at meeting in the locker room at which Paul Norman, deputy manager of U.S. treasury department store. Here Norman pins the war front decoration -- awarded to all who back the attack during the current bond drive -- on manager Mel Ott, while members of the team (L. to R.)
