A black-and-white ink on paper cartoon by artist Bill Gallo. There's a large hand holding a baseball and on the ball it reads, "Phil Niekro's 268-230 lifetime (20 years) record." On the left is Basement Bertha, a Gallo stock character, saying "There are two maybes we're dealing with and both could happen next week." To the right is a silhouette of a player and a sign over his head that states "Cooperstown" with an arrow. To the left a text box reads, "60-yr-old Hoyt Wilhelm could find a new niche-then, a 45-yr-old knuckleballer may find a new home in N.Y." At the bottom right corner, is another silhouette of a figure wearing a pointed helmet which may reference those worn by German soldiers in the first world war. This character says, "45? Dis is a younk squirt! Vilhelm vas 49 und still squeezing der juice from der apple!" The bottom has an editing note that states "37 picas wide." The signature of the artist is visible in the lower right corner and the title of the piece is handwritten in the upper left. The verso (not shown) is blank.
