Bill Wambsganss digital image

Date1921
DescriptionA black-and-white, head and shoulder, digital image of Bill Wambsganss captured looking off to the side with a straight face. Wambsganss is wearing the Cleveland Indians hat and a uniform that says "Worlds Champion." This digital image was taken after the 1920 World Series where the Cleveland Indians beat the Brooklyn Robins over the course of seven games. During game 5 of the 1920 World Series, on October 10, 1920, Wambsganss had an unassisted triple play. He first caught a line drive, then stepped on second base to get the runner out and finally tagged the runner heading to first base out. The Cleveland Indians won this game against the Brooklyn Robins 8-1. Based on Wambsganss' uniform and his time with the Cleveland Indians this digital image was taken in 1921.
