Jackie Robinson Batting negatives

DescriptionA 35mm film strip with black-and-white frames of Jackie Robinson batting during his tryout in October of 1945. Jackie is in a batting stance, and once he hits the ball, he is running. Based on other film strips, the location of the tryout was at Lane Stadium in San Diego, California and the catcher behind the plate is Buster Haywood. Both Robinson and Haywood are wearing a Kansas City Royals barnstorming uniform. The number 20 can be seen on the back of Robinson's uniform.
