DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Grover Cleveland Alexander pitching. On the mound, shown in 3/4 profile, Cleveland wears a Philadelphia Phillies road uniform. Depicted mid-pitch, Alexander stands on his back right leg, with his left lifted off the ground. He extends his gloved left hand in front of his body waist height while gripping the ball in his back right hand. He looks forward and down to a point to the right of the camera. Several teammates and an occupied stadium are visible in the background. Published in January 1916, this image was probably created in 1916.
