Kalamazoo Lassies Players photograph

Date1950
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of a group of seven Kalamazoo Lassies players in their Muskegon Lassies uniforms in 1950. Four of the players (Gloria Cordes Elliott, Helen Walulik Kiely, Glenna Sue Kidd, and Mirtha "Mita" Marrero Fernandez) are pitchers who are standing in a line having just thrown a baseball. Three other players (Marge Silvestri, Doris Sams, and Doris Barr) stand together to their left watching how they throw. Various trees, a car, and houses can be seen behind them.
Bio/Historical NoteThe Muskegon Lassies relocated during the midseason to Kalamazoo, Michigan and the team was renamed to the Kalamazoo Lassies. They continued to play in the old Muskegon uniforms despite the location change as the city was granted the team on a trial basis.
