DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of All-American Girls Professional Baseball League manager John "Johnny" Rawlings talking to the players of the Grand Rapids Chicks as well as their chaperone, Dorothy "Dottie" Hunter, at El Gran Stadium during spring training in Havana, Cuba in 1947. Spectators line the edge of the stands behind them. The players are mostly sitting on wooden bleachers in two rows - one in the back (Yolande Teillet Schick, Charlene Barnett, Doris Tetzlaff, Ruth Richard, unidentified, Alice Haylett, Betty Whiting, Mildred Earp, chaperone Dorothy "Dottie" Hunter, Dorothy Montgomery, Philomena Gianfrancisco Zale, Beverly Leach, Connie Wisniewski) and one sitting in the front (unidentified, Ernestine "Teeny" Petras, Elsie Wingrove Earl, Twila Shively).
