Letter from Wendell Smith to Jackie Robinson

DescriptionA typed letter dated February 4, 1967 from Wendell Smith to Jackie Robinson about spring training. Smith is planning on traveling to Cuba. He writes that he doubts Robinson will have to travel to South America because Smith thinks Branch Rickey intends to keep him with the Montreal minor league team. Smith writes that he thinks that Robinson has a chance of reaching the majors this year. He also mentions that Larry Doby and Monte Irvin are traveling to Havana, Cuba for spring training as well, so Robinson will have some company.
