DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Jack Chesbro pitching for the New York Yankees in a road game uniform. Caption (not shown) reads, "Jack Chesbro, Familiarly known as "Happy Jack," inventor of the famous split ball, the crack pitcher of the New York American League team, and one of the cleverest men that ever fooled a batter when sending 'em over the plate." Based on the uniform, and Chesbro's career, the photograph was taken in 1903.
