Bio/Historical NoteOn March 22, 2016, an exhibition game took place between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban national team at Estadio Latinoamericano. The Rays won 4-1, with the Rays' James Loney homering and driving in three runs. U.S. President Barack Obama attended the game along with Cuban President Raul Castro, the first sitting U.S. president to visit Cuba since Calvin Coolidge 88 years ago. This baseball was the first pitch ball, thrown by Cuban Nationals pitcher Gomez Vazquanes Torres to Tampa Bay Rays' Dayron Verona, hit to shallow right for a fly out.
