The caption (not shown) reads "Babe Ruth signs his autograph for a young admirer, Armstead Williams, 2 1/2, of Richmond, Va., shortly before the Babe entrained for Hollywood from New York, April 28. At left is Mrs. Ruth, who accompanied her husband. The youngster, also headed for the West Coast with his parents, is the son of Dr. Armstead Williams of Boston, Mass., General Hospital." Ruth is bent over looking at Williams and his wife Claire is behind the boy.
