DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Babe Ruth. The caption (not shown) reads "Babe Ruth was mugged and finger printed yesterday at Police Headquarters. In trouble? No, nuou. Just going to get somebody else in trouble, if he gets fresh with the public weal or with Police Reserve Lieut. George Herman Ruth. That was what the mugging and fingerprinting was all about-the creation, the inception, the inauguration, the grand alpha and genesis of a new preserver of the peace and dignity of the law. The Babe, already Sultan of Swat and private in the New York National Guard, was invested with a new title and a new uniform, being photographed in both." Based on the stamp on the back (not shown) this was taken in September 1925.
