Fans Watch World Series Scoreboard on Fulton and Broadway photograph
Date1955 September 29
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of fans watching game 2 of the 1955 World Series on an electronic scoreboard at Fulton and Broadway in New York City on September 29, 1955. The male fans standing in front of a bookstore have their backs to the camera as they look up to the second story of the building (above the words underwood) to read the electronic scoreboard. Included newspaper clipping caption on back (not shown) reads "This is what all those good folks shown on Page 1 are craning their necks about. Almost everybody in town is baseball happy and these folk were part of this group following the derring-do of the Yanks and Dodgers yesterday on a scoreboard at Fulton Street and Broadway. The drama kept even a mailman from the swift completion of his appointed rounds, something that neither rain nor snow nor hail nor sleet could do"
