Alexander, Fred

Descendant of William and Margaret Cammeyer. William Cammeyer was a businessman who was a pioneer in the early days of Major League Baseball. He was the owner of the New York Mutuals franchise from 1868-1876 and managed the team in 1876. Union Grounds opened in 1862; during the winters, it was turned into a skating rink called Union Pond.
