BiographyPete Fahrer pitched five games for the 1914 Cincinnati Reds, posting an ERA of 1.12. He had by far the lowest ERA on the team.Fahrer also went 14-6 for Dayton in 1914.
Baseball Digest, as part of its attempt to locate "lost" players, reported on Fahrer in its July 1962 issue. He was a spitballer who hit well enough that he was sometimes used as a pinch-hitter. His minor league career was from 1910-15, and in 1914, while with the Dayton team which would go on to win its league pennant, he pitched six innings of no-hit exhibition ball against the Reds, who signed him. -Baseball Reference
