BiographyFred Lake played for Boston of the National League (1891, 1897, 1910, known as Beaneaters 1883-1906, then Doves 1907-1910, 1910 as player-manager), Louisville Colonels of the National League (1894), and the Pittsburgh Pirates (1898). During his playing career, Lake managed the Boston Red Sox (1908-1909).
