Biography"ASCO was started in 1949 by Lars H. Granberg. Granberg was a teacher and athletic coach at Houston High School located in Houston, MN, not far from Winona... On July 5, 1955 Lars Granberg formally incorporated his new company under the name “ASCO, Inc.,” a Minnesota corporation... By the end of the 1950s ASCO had expanded their product line to include buttons and “tissue paper shakers,” a.k.a., Pom Poms...
