Biography"Founded in 1908, the Westmoreland Historical Society is an educational organization dedicated to acquiring and managing resources related to the history of Westmoreland County in Pennsylvania. Hanna’s Town is a Westmoreland County Park administered by the Westmoreland Historical Society. In 2019, the Westmoreland Historical Society moved its headquarters to the Westmoreland History Education Center at Historic Hanna’s Town. Established by Irish farmer and businessman Robert Hanna in 1773, Hanna’s Town served as the site of the first English court west of the Allegheny Mountains and first seat of government for Westmoreland County.
