Campbell, Soup, 1915-2000

Clarence "Soup" Campbell was an outfielder and pinch hitter in the Major Leagues in 1940 and 1941. "He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 2, 1942, missing the 1942-1945 seasons. Campbell returned to play for the Baltimore Orioles (IL) in 1946-1947. He hit .321 with 10 triples for New Orleans in 1939 and managed in the minors in 1952 at Lexington."--Baseball-Reference.com.
