"Arnieri was an outfielder in college. He was assistant coach at the University of Illinois from 1983-1987, working with Darrin Fletcher as a hitter. He was a scout for the Chicago White Sox (1988-?), Boston Red Sox (1996-1998), San Francisco Giants (1999-?) and Washington Nationals (2007- ). He signed Brad Hennessey, Justin Knoedler, Pat Misch, Ben Snyder, Jack Taschner and Jordan Zimmermann.
