BiographyRon Carothers was American-born but relocated to Australia and became a citizen in the 1990s. He moved to Australia in 1985 after being recruited by Essendon Baseball Club. When the Australian Baseball League was formed in the late 1980s, Carothers, an outfielder, was signed by the Waverley Reds. Carothers has been a junior coach at Cheltenham for 20 years and has coached numerous state teams. He won two ABL premierships - the second after he joined the Monarchs - was an ABL all-star and travelled all over the world when he played for Australia. He was the editor of "Baseball Australia: The Official Journal of the Australian Baseball Federation Inc."--heraldsun.com.au.
