Honus Wagner Statue Fund pin

DescriptionCircular white button with a straight pin on the back side. Front surface is white with a blue-scale depiction of a man's face wearing a baseball cap. "Hon" is in larger blue lettering above with "or" and "us" in smaller lettering stacked to the right. Therefore, the button reads "Honor Honus." Back side has an illegible embossed stamp.

Bio/Historical NoteThe referenced statue of Wagner, funded by the sale of these pins, was erected in 1955, and was just the fourth statue ever erected to honor a specific baseball individual. The fundraising efforts were well-documented in newspapers during 1954.
