Mike Moustakas Postseason bat

Date2020 September 30-October 01
DescriptionWooden bat, 31.5 ounces, with a natural stain barrel and a black painted knob, handle and taper. There is a black manufacturer decal on the natural stain portion of the barrel and "Handcrafted For / Mike Moustakas / MM9 Custom Cut - M" is in black lettering near the end of the barrel. Barrel end tip is cupped. There is a small circle on the taper of unpainted wood. Knob end has a white circular decal with a design of red stitching to mimic a baseball, depicting two hands, one black and one white, clasped with "Heal" and "Unite" at their respective wrists.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by Mike Moustakas of the Cincinnati Reds during the Reds' 2020 Postseason games from September 29th to October 1st. The bat bears a "Heal & Unite" decal on the knob, featuring two hands of differing skin tones clasped in unity over a design of a baseball's seams. These decals are an initiative of Project Unit, which was formed by Hall of Famer and Cincinnati legend Barry Larkin to draw people together in support of social justice issues. Moustakas was one of many ballplayers who chose to add this decal to their bats during the Postseason. The Reds were swept in the Wild Card Series, losing two games to the Atlanta Braves.
