Mack has a large smile and is dressed in a suit. Unidentified couples are standing behind Mack. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "The Indians Baked A Cake Cleveland: Connie Mack prepares to cut a cake at a pre-game party marking his 50 years with the Philadelphia Athletics and the Cleveland Indians' 50th year in baseball. The Indians were hosts to Mack and a number of couples celebrating their 50th anniversaries in a party before the night game with the Philadelphia team, June 16. 6/16/50." A caption on the front of an additional copy (not shown) and states, "6/16-Cleveland: Connie Mack in a pre-game ceremony cuts a cake celebrating his 50 years with the Philadelphia A's and also to honor the Cleveland Indians which also celebrates its 50th year in baseball. Surrounding Connie Mack are couples who have been married 50 years or more. The Cleveland Indians acted as host to Mack and the couples in a big party before the ball game."
