John McGraw Funeral photograph

DescriptionA black-and-white photograph from the funeral of John McGraw as his casket is carried out from St. Patrick's Cathedral. Numerous men and women surround the casket as they mourn the loss of McGraw and attend to pay their respects. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) reads, "...in bleachers , mourn McGraw in cold outside cathedral...Throngs in Fifth Ave. as the body of the old baseball warrior was borne from St. Patrick's Cathedral." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on February 28, 1934.
