DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Father William M Clements speaking during Wilbert Robinson's funeral. Numerous unidentified gentlemen are visible as they listen to the Father speak. Robinson's casket is barely visible underneath the several floral arrangements. A headstone is visible in the foreground with "Wilbert Robinson Jr. June 20, 1891 Jan. 5, 1918," written on it. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "The Rev. Father William M. Clements, pastor of St. Katherine's church, Baltimore, MD., as he said burial rites for the late 'uncle' Wilbert Robinson, August 11, in Bonnie Brae Cemetery, Baltimore. Robinson died suddenly in Atlanta, GA., August 8. The funeral was attended by many persons prominent in the world of baseball, including two of the three surviving members of the famous Oriole baseball team." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on August 11, 1934.
