DescriptionTwo Western Union telegrams to Dick Harley regarding player contracts. In the first, dated December 28, 1901, Frank Dwyer writes to Dick Harley, inquiring whether Harley has sent a contract to Detroit. In the second, dated December 30, 1901, Frank Cook writes to Dick Harley informing Harley that he has returned a contract. On the reverse are newspaper clippings and a black-and-white photomechnical print. Black-and-white photomechnical print of the 1898 St. Louis Browns by the American Sports Publishing Company. Player names are listed below the photograph. Also includes two newspaper clippings: the first regards Dick Harley's indecision about which team to sign with and the second deals with a game between Philadelphia and Cleveland.
