DescriptionRoyal blue cap with a white button at the top crown and a white embroidered "KC" logo on the front. Underside of the bill is light gray with "B.S. 31" and "Bret Saberhagen" handwritten in black ink. Interior has a white cotton sweatband with an MLB label in the rear along with a "New Era" manufacturer label. There is also a very faded and illegible sizing tag in the rear of the sweatband. Interior crown has black seam taping.
Bio/Historical NoteCap worn by Bret Saberhagen of the Kansas City Royals during the 1985 World Series from October 19th to 27th. Saberhagen became the youngest winner of the World Series MVP Award with his five-hit, complete-game shutout in Game 7 of the 1985 World Series, throwing only 93 pitches in an 11-0 Royals victory. The Royals defeated the Cardinals 4-3 to win the Series.
