DescriptionBlack baseball cap, size 7 1/2, with a copper-colored "D" with purple and teal highlights stitched on the front center. Proper left side has a small 2001 World Series patch glued over a stitched American flag. Over the patch in white ink is written "God Bless America." Rear center has an MLB logo. On either side of the logo is "NYFD" and "NYPD" handwritten in white ink. Pinned above the MLB logo is a very small silver badge, "City of New York Police 27001." Underside of the bill is gray with "38 / Whatever It Takes" handwritten in black marker. Interior cotton sweatband has three manufacturer labels at the rear center, including "Authentic Collection," "New Era" and a sizing tag.
Bio/Historical NoteArizona Diamondbacks road cap worn by pitcher Curt Schilling during the 2001 season and 2001 World Series. Schilling shared World Series MVP honors with fellow pitcher Randy Johnson. The American flag was stitched onto all MLB caps following the September 11, 2001 attack on the USA. Schilling added his own personal tributes to the USA, NY City firemen and policemen who lost their lives in the World Trade Center collapse on September 11, 2001.
