DescriptionA black-and-white picture postcard of an unidentified woman, front, captured on the ground with her arm stretched out tagging the base as an unidentified man, back left, uses a baseball to tag the woman on her back, his knee next to the base. Another woman (back right) is acting as an umpire and calling the runner safe. The man and two women are all dressed in generic baseball uniforms. The caption on the front of the picture postcard reads, "Safe on First." A letter on the reverse on the picture postcard written to Mame [?] Compton reads, "[Illegible] expected to see you today but was [illegible]. Will try again soon. [Illegible] Hope Alice is OK again." This picture postcard was taken circa 1911, the date the postcard was sent per the postal stamp on the back.
