DescriptionA full-length color photograph of Johnny Damon batting. Damon, wearing a Kansas City Royals road uniform, helmet, and batting gloves, is shown in profile. Having just made contact with the ball, Damon extends his right hand, that grips the bat, back behind his body, carrying the momentum of his swing. Damon supports his weight on his back left leg while his bent right leg, that is in front of his body, is lifted slightly off the ground. Holding his left arm in front of his body waist height, Damon looks forward and to his right, in preparation to run to first base. Visible in the image is the mitt of the catcher positioned behind Damon, as well as an occupied stadium in the background, evidence that this image was captured in-game. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Damon, his years with the Royals, and the copyright information on the back the photograph was taken in 1995 or 1996. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in blue ink, is a 1996 copyright regarding the trademarks of the Major League Club insignias.
