Paul Molitor Batting photograph
Date1997
DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Paul Molitor batting. Molitor, shown in profile, wears a Minnesota Twins alternate road uniform, helmet, and batting gloves. Depicted mid-swing, adopting a modified lunge position, Molitor supports his weight between his bent, front left leg and his bent, back right leg. Placing right hand over left on the grip of the bat, Molitor holds the bat chest height in front of his body, parallel to the ground. Molitor looks forward to a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. Taken in-game, the catcher is visible to the left of Molitor and an occupied dugout and stadium can be seen in the background. On the right sleeve of Molitor's jersey is a commemorative patch celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier. Major League teams wore this patch throughout the 1997 season.
