DescriptionA color slide of Jim Thome of the Cleveland Indians captured at bat during a game two of the World Series against the Atlanta Braves on October 22, 1995. Thome's legs are sliding further apart as he completes his swing and pulls the bat to the right side of his body. He has a straight face and is looking towards the pitcher's mound. Thome is dressed in a Cleveland Indians road uniform. The Atlanta Braves catcher, Javy Lopez, is captured squatting behind Thome with his mitt extended out and open in front of him. An unidentified umpire is squatting down behind Lopez. Lopez is dressed in an Atlanta Braves home uniform. Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium which is packed with baseball fans is in the background. The date of this slide was determined by information on the slide's casing (not shown).
