Rube Waddell photograph

Datebetween 1902 and 1907
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Rube Waddell captured preparing to throw his pitch. Waddell is leaning back on his left side. He is looking over his right shoulder and has a serious expression on his face. An unidentified baseball player is bent over in the background behind Waddell. Waddell is dressed in the Philadelphia Athletics uniform but it is unclear whether it is the home or road uniform. The caption on the front of the photograph (not shown) states, "Rube Waddell The erratic twirler of the Philadelphia Americans who is, without a doubt the champion strikeout pitcher of the country." Based on Waddell's uniform and his time with the Philadelphia Athletics this photograph was taken between 1902 and 1907.
