Matt Shoemaker protective cap

DescriptionRed cap, size 7 5/8, with a team logo embroidered on the front in white, navy blue, maroon, red, and silver. There is a white manufacturer logo embroidered on the proper left side and an MLB logo embroidered at the rear center. Interior of the cap has black seam taping with "59FIFTY" in white lettering. Interior cotton sweatband has several manufacturer labels, including "Authentic Collection," "New Era"and a sizing label. Included with this cap is a slightly curved black plastic insert. On the concave side is a padded area made of vertical and horizontal bars. On the convex side is the same pattern but made out of the plastic of the insert. On this side there is a "STS" logo engraved into the top and a red circular sticker with a handwritten "R," possibly indicating that this was meant to be inserted in the right side of the cap.

Bio/Historical NoteCap and protective cap insert worn by Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker during the 2017 season. Shoemaker was hit in the head with a line drive during a game on September 4, 2016.
