DescriptionBlack painted wooden bat, 32 ounces, with a white "M / Marucci / Bone Rubbed" trademark logo in the center of the barrel and "Handcrafted for / AJ Pierzynski / AP40-LDM Pro Model" in white lettering near the end of the barrel. Barrel end tip is cupped. There is blue tape wrapped around the handle and also black tape extending past the blue tape. There is an MLB Authentication hologram sticker near the barrel end. Knob end has "04/04/16 / 15 / 4 / 2 0" inscribed.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by A.J. Pierzynski of the Atlanta Braves in the 2nd inning against the Boston Red Sox on April 27, 2016 in Boston, when he recorded the 2,000th hit of his major league career. Hit was off Steven Wright. Pierzynski is the 10th catcher to reach 2,000 hits including Carlton Fisk, Mike Piazza, Yogi Berra, Gary Carter, Johnny Bench, Ivan Rodriguez, Ted Simmons, Jason Kendall and Joe Torre. He is the first player to accomplish this feat since Jason Kendall in 2009.
