Ted Williams Retired Number sign

Dateundated
DescriptionLarge circular metal sign made up of four layers of metal. The base layer is a large navy blue metal circle, followed by a slightly smaller white circle. Then in the center is a large navy blue "6" and within that, another smaller red "6." The layers are affixed in place with five metal bolts inside the red "6." There are three holes through the upper middle part of the sign to fix it to the façade, and five more along the bottom of the blue base circle. There also appears to be some tape under the upper right part of the red "6."
Bio/Historical NoteMetal sign of the number 9 honoring the retirement of Ted William's #9 from the Boston Red Sox that hung on Fenway Park's façade until approximately 2009, when it was replaced with a new sign.
