DescriptionA black-and-white, head and shoulders photograph of Mel Ott. Ott's head is slightly turned to his right side and he is looking out of the corner of his eyes with a serious expression. His eyebrows are furrowed. Ott is dressed in a New York Giants uniform. It is indistinguishable whether or not the uniform is a home or road uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) that states, "Mel Ott, veteran New York Giants' outfielder, and team captain, is shown during spring training here. 2-25-41." Based on the newspaper clipping and Ott's time with the Giants, this photograph was taken in 1941.
