DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Babe Ruth feeling a child ice cream. The caption (not shown) reads "New York. Babe Ruth gave a "Surprise party" for 30 little infantile paralysis patients at the hospital for joint diseases, 124th street and Madison Avenue today (December 12th). The Babe appeared laden with toys, baseball bats, ice cream and cake, and spent the day with the youngsters. The Babe appealed for every American's support for the committee for the celebration of the President's birthday for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. Photo shows Marie aged 3, sharing the Babe's ice cream at the party."
