DescriptionA black-and-white multi photograph of Babe Ruth. The caption (not shown) reads "Three scenes in the career of Babe Ruth, who was reported in a critical condition in New York's Memorial Hospital, Aug. 11. At left Babe is shown as a great pitcher for the Boston Red Sox early in his career. He takes a healthy swing at the ball (center) during an exhibition game in Florida while a member of the New York Yankees. At right he poses with his teammate, the late Lou Gehrig (right) in New York during an exhibition game between the Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers." Based on similar photos in this collection, the photograph on the left was taken in 1919. Based on their time with the Yankees, the other two photographs were taken between 1923 and 1934.
