DescriptionA black-and-white, head-and-shoulders photograph of Al Spalding dressed in a suit, looking off to his right. The caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "A.G. Spalding, 2nd Vice Pres. Panama California Exposition, San Diego 1915." This exposition commemorated the opening of the Panama Canal and San Diego's position as the first port of call for northward bound ships. According to the caption on the back (not shown), this photograph was taken in 1915.
