DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Eddie Collins and Ted Williams at dinner. Williams, right, is captured pulling at the collar of his buttoned down shirt with his left hand. William's face expresses his discomfort. Collins, left, looks at Williams out of the corner of his eyes with a slight smirk. Both men are dressed in formal wear. The caption on the front of the photograph states, "Ted Williams (R) gives a tug to the collar of his shirt during the Boston Sportswriters Dinner tonight, 2/2. Watching him is Red Sox vice-pres. Edward Collins. Ted is noted for his open sport shirts and it is very seldom when he wears a tie. He was voted Boston's outstanding player." The caption on the back of the photograph states, "Eddie Collins Boston Red Sox Vice-Pres." Based on the first caption, this photograph was taken on February 2, 1950.
