DiMaggio is in a New York Yankees uniform while the Japanese player is in an unidentified uniform. Lefty O' Doul can be seen observing the action in the background, wearing dark clothes, sunglasses, and a San Francisco Seals cap. There is a large number of other players and spectators watching the lesson. A caption on the back reads (not shown), "'Batter' Luck Next Time: New York Yankees' slugger Joe DiMaggio coaches a Japanese player on the finer points of his batting technique while 'Lefty' O'Doul (dark glasses, background), manager of the San Francisco Seals, looks on at Korakuen Stadium in Tokyo. DiMaggio and O'Doul are in the Far East to entertain GI's in teh combot zone and others scattered throughout Korea and Japan. 11/13/1950."
