DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Monte Irvin and Willie Mays in the New York Giants locker room. The image caption on the reverse reads, "Giants Among Giants. New York Giants Monte Irvin, left, and Willie Mays, right, stand together in dressing room at Polo Grounds, New York, June 22, after delivering blows which gave Giants 3-2 9th inning win over Milwaukee Braves. Irvin, a pinch-hitter, delivered a single to score the winning run after two were out. It was Irvin's first hit in the last 27 times at bat. Earlier Mays hit into the left field stands for his 21st homer of the season, and in the ninth his bloop double scored Whitey Lockman with the tying run. Game extended Giants lead in National League to two full games over Brooklyn Dodgers."
