DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Gene Autry and the Los Angeles Angels riding bicycles to their spring training site in Palm Springs, California on February 21, 1962. The caption above the photograph (not shown) reads, "This unlikely looking procession of pedal-pushers composed of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team makes its way to the polo grounds here 2/21 to begin spring training. Leading the group (wearing cowboy hat) is Angels owner Gene Autry. It's all part of general manager Fred Haney's plan to keep the boys in condition pedaling four miles each day to and from their hotel to the training grounds."
