BiographyCliff Fannin was signed by the St. Louis Browns in 1942 and then spent his entire major league career, from 1945 to 1952, with the Browns. He is unfortunately most famous for a game in which the Browns lost 29-4. Fanning gave up 8 runs in 2 innings against the Boston Red Sox, and Ted Williams scored 8 runs in the game.

He also played in Cuba. He played in the Pacific Coast League after his major league days and later was a salesman. He died young at age 42. -Baseball Reference
