BiographyConstance McCabe is head of the photograph conservation department at the National Gallery of Art. Part of her job includes researching the technical history and material character of photographs in the collection to ensure their preservation. She edited the multi-author volumes "Coatings on Photographs: Materials, Techniques, and Conservation", (2005) and "Platinum and Palladium Photographs: Technical History, Connoisseurship, and Preservation", (2017), and co-authored "The Big Show: Charles M.
