Biography In 1913, along with his younger brother Walter he founded the "Al Munro Elias Bureau". He began by selling scorecards and compiling player statistics selling them at ball parks, saloons and to various newspapers. In 1916 the New York Evening Telegram gave the Elias brothers their big break by publishing the Elias weekly compilation of "batting and pitching" averages. By 1919 the National League appointed them the official statisticians of the league.--findagrave.com
