DescriptionA Pittsburgh Pirates World Series program for game 1, dated October 08, 1909, against the Detroit Tigers. The scorecard is scored with the rosters typed in and handwritten in on the right side of the scorecard. The front cover has an illustration of Forbes Field in the center. Above it it reads "Forbes Field, the Pirates new ball park, this is the most magnificent base ball park in the world." The top has a head shot of W.H. Locke, team secretary; Barney Dryfuss, team president; and Fred C. Clarke, team manager. At the top it reads "World's Series, 1909, Pittsburg Base Ball Club, Harris & Son Publishers, Pittsburg, PA." The bottom reads "Erected by The Nicola Building Company of Pittsburgh." The letters are in red and the center is green. The back cover has an image of Forbes Field and is surrounded by an advertisement for Schenley Farms.
